Several of the topics that I study, including management of free-roaming cats and other threats to birds, can be polarizing, and our ability to meaningfully address these issues is often hindered by misinformation and disinformation. I regularly give public talks about the science of free-roaming cat impacts and bird conservation, encouraging attendees to ask questions and sharing tips on how to discuss challenging subjects with their communities.
